Chris Cheney
The Living End

Quite simply the most exciting guitar player in Australia today. Blending punk, rockabilly and pub rock together to come up with a lethal cocktil of riffs and licks that have already inspired a new generation of guitarists.

Unlike many guitarists these days who chop and change their guitars regularly, Cheney is a confirmed Gretsch man.

'Well Malcolm [Young] plays them so why not?' he laughs. As does another of his heroes, Brian Setzer. While those two players have had long and successful careers, Cheney's reputation grows at an almost daily rate. At the NAMM Show in LA earlier this year, other brands were reportedly throwing everything but the kitchen sink at Cheney to entice him to switch allegiances. Luckily for Gretsch, his love of his White Falcon grows ever more.

"It is sounding the best it ever has at the moment," Cheney declares. "But I'm also using a couple of Double Jets on a few songs as well."
