The Living End return with their seventh album and a national tour
It has been five years since the last album from The Living End, but the kings of Australian rock and roll have finally returned to announce that their seventh album, Shift, will be released on May 13.
The album features the recent teaser track ‘Monkey’ and the new single ‘Keep on Running’, a deeply personal string-laden song that is being touted as “one of the most powerful songs of The Living End’s career”. Listen to the single below.
The band released their sixth record, The Ending Is Just The Beginning Repeating, in 2011 and played shows across the country the following year on an extensive retrospective tour that featured performances of their entire back-catalogue. Since then Cheney has spent time working on a solo record, while drummer Andy Strachan and bassist Scott Owen teamed up with Ash Grunwald for the 2013 Gargantua album. Strachan also released a solo debut under the questionable name The Pants Collective in 2014.
The Living End will take Shift out on the road for a national headline tour in June with support from Adelaide pub rock heroes BAD//DREEMS and 131’s – the new band for former King Cannons frontman Luke Yeoward.
