The Living End, Tuesday At Metro

The Living End, Tuesday at Metro: It seems that whenever the U.S. and British pop scenes veer from the rock ‘n’ roll straight and narrow into things like art rock and synthesized New Wave pop, Australia begins exporting no-nonsense, hard-nosed bands that serve as a kind of antidote. Now that deejays are bigger than guitar players, the folks Down Under have sent us The Living End, a brash, back-to-basics trio whose songs blend classic U.K. punk and a kind of metallic rockabilly into roaring, tuneful, three-chord explosions. 3730 N. Clark St. 773-549-0203.
